Over the summer, Hayley and I had a meeting and we decided that we didn't like the plot of our film; we thought that, in order for us to include for artistic camera shots and angles, our film would have to be darker and have a more sinister plot. Also, it will be easier to reference and take ideas from already existing genres like Film Noir and Thriller.
Instead, we have decided to go in a completely different direction. When our teacher looked at our screenplay, she suggested that perhaps Lucy could be suffering from some sort of mental issue that enables us to see people who aren't really there. We then decided that we would research into schizophrenia and schizophrenic hallucinations. We researched into the symptoms and the experiences that people on the Internet have documented, and found that we needed to write a completely different screenplay to convey the terrible experiences that people with schizophrenia have had.
Also, we plan to loook into American psychological thrillers like 'Donnie Darko' and 'Memento', but we have noticed there are no UK teenage psychological dramas, and since schizophrenia develops in late teen years, we feel that it would be a good idea to address these issues and provide a UK teen psychological thriller.
This then means that all our our previous work is irrelevant, but Hayely and I both decided to keep it on our blogs because it shows the stages of our progress.
However, changing our ideas means that we are now behind deadlines, so a lot of extra time will have to used to make sure we are back up to date with our new idea.
To help us get collectively pin down our ideas, we made a moodboard showing relevant images that link to our short film and uploaded it to SlideShare.net.
